What is Ritualistic Skincare?

It is doing something everyday that is an act of self love.

Cleansing with an oil based cleanser that keeps the PH in our skin balanced, revealing clean and glowing skin, is a great start. A good cleanser is all you need at night. My favourite is from Helena Lane. Its the only product I use in my facials and on my skin. Simply remove makeup and debris from the day and your skin will repair itself as you sleep. For extra care, a serum or a hydrating moisturizer will help lock in vital nutrients so you wake up refreshed and your skin is well hydrated.

As a ritual, cleanse, exfoliate (gentle exfoliation, 2-3 times a week) and hydrate. A flower water is essential to use throughout the day to stay hydrated. Youthful skin is always hydrated.

Keep in mind to use gentle, upward, circular motions to increase blood flow. Firm but gentle, always gentle. You will notice your skin become more lifted and sculpted, due to moving stale energy around in the face. We used to think harder will make the debris come out of our pores quicker, the make-up come off faster, the deep pain to go away instantly, but it is not true. The body responds better to a gentle, intentional touch.

By intentional touch, I mean tell your self how beautiful and radiant and healthy you are, every time you cleanse, exfoliate and hydrate. Speak kindly to yourself everyday and your face will reflect that inner beauty.

Hydration is key, as well as balancing the PH in our skin. Not stripping it of essential oils produced by the skin but by keeping the skin barrier strong so no external debris enters our pores causing a pimple or irritation deep within the pore.

A beautiful way to lock in all your ritualistic skincare routines is by finishing with Zyderma. Zyderma acts like a shield on your skin and it take care of pimples and blemishes like no other acne cream on the market.
